Hey Ionut, definitely agree on that. Focusing on and chasing SEO traffic only is a sure way to ruin. For sure, focusing on various aspects, including various sources of traffic is extremely important.
Good SEO can have a very good ROI, it’s just that it’s not easy to get it right…

Hey Erik,
At some point in my career I have decided just to ignore a bunch of sites, yes I could have sold for few hundred dollars or more, yes they may have generated some $$, however I saw more value in completely abandon them, I have lost money doing it, but I have gained time/energy/focus that I have used in other projects, that I thought are more interesting.

I have experience the benefits of SEO and yes, you can literally have a business ‘overnight’, and yes I am not saying that is complex neither, I am just saying that you should rather focus on building your business and invest in all aspects that are important for your business.

Just curious, are those small sites you created time ago still working and generating revenue, after the Google algo updates?
I agree with you. We must focus on delivering content with added value to our readers and at the same time, understand and write the posts optimizing for search engines. I think this is something one can learn over time.
Congratulations on launching ThemeIsle blog, good luck with that!
(But I’m sure it will be a success like CodeinWP blog).
I love “Revive Old Posts” plugin.
I’m using it on almost all my sites, included many niche blogs.
It works perfect to repurpose old content automagically, for new social shares and for getting traffic.
