What a nice surprise to come across you again. Here I am at the WPShout site following your advice on: “as a beginner, spend some time honing your skills” to accelerate my way into a freelance WordPress Consulting Business. Because of your feedback and after some thought, I decided, for now, to drop Webflow and embrace WordPress. You suggested 6 months of practice, hence today I signed up for the WPShout’s Up & Running track. As soon as I am done I might consider becoming a Double Stacker. Best regards,

In reply to Sallie Goetsch. Totally agree. One of the best added value for a client is to take the management of their site off their shoulder and save their time they can spend on the business. Managed web services gives you recurring monthly income and your client site will be kept up to date. As more and more clients understands that having a website is not just buying or creating one. That's why we can stay up even around Wix and SquareSpace.

It’s never been easier to build a (simple) WP site yourself…and I’ve never been busier with clients whose needs are not simple sites and who simply don’t have the time or desire to do this themselves. Even on the sole-proprietor end of things, many clients want to run their businesses, not their websites.

That’s not to say we should avoid value-added services. It’s just that people who are serious about being in business and have the budget to hire freelancers (or even agencies) are not going to suddenly jump on the DIY bandwagon. That’s going to be much more the realm of those who are out of work and have time but not money.
