That’s because clients and users respond with content, not with markup.

Also, the Gutenberg authors keep responding to user-reviewers in the WordPress Gutenberg plugin review section, and they are stating that Gutenberg is a “Post Editor,” NOT a “Page Builder.” I posted a link below of a Gutenberg author stating this. There are tons of 1-star reviews (one of my own included below in a link), and the WP moderators & Gutenberg authors try to justify people’s 1-star review by stating that Gutenberg is technically not a page builder, and it’s not meant to replace the 3 main page builders listed in this article.

As a WordPress theme and plugin developer, I utterly despise Gutenberg. It’s not a matter of “if” Gutenberg not being compatible with some themes and plugins, it’s just a matter of how many themes and plugins won’t be compatible with Gutenberg. The GitHub Gutenberg project has over 4,000 closed issues & over 1,200 opens issues. Soo many bugs and errors. Gutenberg should remain as a plugin, NOT part of the WordPress core.

What concerns me, as a web designer, is what will I have to teach my clients about Gutenberg? It has taken some effort to teach some just the simple editor for blog posting.

I can promise you that I’ll keep building those “tens of thousands*” of client websites using my favorite page-builder, until/unless Gutenberg can even begin to approach how excellent and useful it is.

* There must actually be tens of millions of that type of client website.
